Confirmation of Membership This Morning

Today we celebrate with Jennifer Babcock and Annette Kletke as they confirm their membership into the United Church of Canada and this congregation. Jennifer and Annette, we are delighted you have chosen Westminster to be your church home. We asked each of them to put together a few words of introduction:

  • Jennifer Babcock – I’ve been a member of the United Church my whole life, first practicing at Windsor Park and then Silver Heights United Church. I am a teacher, a student, a daughter, a sister, and an aunty who looks forward to my adventures with Westminster and finding a place in my new church community.
  • Annette Kletke – Annette came to Westminster U. C. about 10 years ago seeking a church choir that would support and enhance her worship Sunday mornings. Not only did she find such a choir but a welcoming church community as well. She currently serves on Inner and Outer Committee.

Welcome Jennifer and Annette!

Nathan and Brandon are getting married!

The congregation is invited to a potluck lunch following the service Today to celebrate Nathan Poole and Brandon Johnston’s upcoming nuptials!

Prairie to Pine

On September 29, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. there will be a service celebrating the pastoral relations covenant / new ministry between Prairie to Pine Regional Council, Crescent Fort Rouge United Church and Marc Whitehead. Crescent Fort Rouge United Church is located at 525 Wardlaw Avenue, Winnipeg. All are welcome!

Prayers and Praise

  • Please keep the congregation and staff of Raymond Flett Memorial United Church, Winnipeg in your thoughts and prayers this week.
  • We extend our condolences to the family of Thelma Taylor. The Service of Remembrance was held here this past Saturday with Rev. Don McIntyre presiding.
  • Next Sunday is Worldwide Communion Sunday. Our October Communion Offering will be forwarded to West Broadway Community Ministry.

Congratulations!

Congratulations to Westminster’s Charles Huband who is a recipient of the Winnipeg Theatre Awards Theatre Champion Award. Charles may be best known as a judge and politician, but he was also one of the driving forces behind the Prairie Theatre Exchange.
The third ceremony of the award program, colloquially known as the Evies, is scheduled to take place Nov. 4 at the West End Cultural Centre. Winnipeg Theatre Awards tickets are on sale at winnipegtheatreawards.com/tickets.
